Nal Aw Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nal Aw Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Nal Aw Kez is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive paverstone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. Astonishigly, the frontieer-style defences are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.
Nal Aw Kez has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Nal Aw Kez ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up.

History
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Nal Aw Kez was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Nal Aw Kez. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Nal Aw Kez lost 250 people, 337 livestock, and 52 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 100, when members of Nal Aw Kez's militia enacted an operation to rescue a particular solgiers group from the enemy. The operation was complicated by the army being put into a position where they could only choose between two terrible options. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the prison, which ended in a stalemate for Nal Aw Kez's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Nal Aw Kez's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
